It has happened to me more often than I can count. I have heard a song a million times and never had it register. Never had it stick. I was watching a TV program and Jackson Browne’s Rock Me on the Water was scoring quite a lovely moment between two characters. I immediately pulled up my iTunes to verify that I did in fact have it. I have the CD too. So between the CD player, the iPod and the laptop, I just can’t get enough of this song. It is the perfect score for my life as it is at the moment.
Made my famous lasagna tonight. Listened to a Sonic Youth and Black Keys double bill on Austin City Limits on PBS. That was only an hour long program. Much too short. So I turned the iPod to Dean Martin. Seemed appropriate. Cheers.
Where would you be without your library? Charming lo-fi video by the tiny Shutesbury Public Library in Shutesbury, Massachusetts, which desperately needs a new building. The state Library Commission has promised to fund 60% of it, amounting to $2.1 million, as long as the library raises $1.4 million by June 30. You can chip in here.
